This hand carved wooden swan is one of those pieces. Rex shaped her entirely by hand from a single piece of rich reclaimed wood, coaxing the graceful S-curve of her neck and the layered texture of her raised wings from a material that most people would have passed right by. The natural grain of the wood flows through her body like water, and the warm honey-brown tones deepen wherever the light catches the curves Rex carved.

She's finished with our own handcrafted wood butter — the same blend we use on everything that leaves Rex's shop. It keeps the wood nourished, brings out the depth of the grain, and gives her a smooth, touchable finish that only improves with handling over time.
