These hand-turned canarywood bottle stoppers showcase one of the most visually dramatic species to come through our Tucson workshop. As a tropical hardwood, canarywood features vivid grain patterns: rich, warm browns streaked with darker lines that shift in the light. Furthermore, the wood is dense and smooth. It takes a high-gloss finish, which makes the grain look almost painted on.
Sar turns each handle by hand from canarywood scrap sourced specifically for its figure. The two available designs highlight this material in very different ways. First, a bold tapered cone lets the straight grain run the full length of the handle. Second, a waisted flame torpedo catches the grain at an angle, creating a ripple effect across the curves. Finally, both styles are finished to a high gloss to bring out every detail in the wood.
The hardware features a sleek, pointed, stainless steel tip and a black rubber seal. Because it fits most standard wine bottles, this piece is clean, modern, and built to last. We priced these stoppers accessibly because we sourced the canarywood as workshop scrap. Despite this, the result looks anything but discount.
